Our quarterly SPED Series is designed to help families understand special education processes, rights, and tools that help students in preparing them for further education, employment, and independent living. Join us as we dive into this quarter’s topics and build stronger partnerships for student success.
What to Expect:
– Webinars led by experienced professionals focusing on IEPs, dispute resolution, and family involvement
– Actionable information, real-world examples, and time for your questions
– Free registration and open to all Virginia families and professionals
SESSION TOPICS:
- January 14: From Referral to Eligibility – Learn how the process begins and what to expect every step of the way.
- January 28: Anatomy of an IEP – Break down each section of the IEP so you know what matters most.
- February 11: Measurable IEP Goals – Understand about developing meaningful goals and why they’re essential to progress.
- February 25: The Ins and Outs of IEP Meetings – Get strategies for effective communication and collaboration at the table.
- March 11: Dispute Resolution Options in Virginia – Explore your rights and the tools available when disagreements arise.
Each workshop will start at 6:30 p.m. EST and will last approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. These sessions will not be recorded.
