Project Coordinator

Job Summary: The DARS Contract Project Coordinator is a vital member of a hard-working team committed to excellence in training parents in their role as partners in education. Working under the provisions of the DARS contract # CTR011361, the incumbent coordinates the contract deliverable efforts, per the contract guidelines. The position requires an understanding of person-centered planning, the student transition process, Pre-Employment Transition Services, Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Transition Services, work incentives, special education for students in Virginia, competitive integrated employment opportunities, as well as related challenges and barriers for individuals with disabilities in Virginia.  The Project Coordinator reports directly to the Project Manager to implement and deliver all contract requirements.

Preferred Education

Bachelor’s Degree required. Experience may be substituted for academic preparation.

Hours: 40 hours/week

Work Location: PEATC’s Warrenton or Suffolk office with a possible telework option.

Salary Range: $25-$27/hr. for full-time employment + excellent benefits package

Bilingual Information Specialist

Job Summary: The Bilingual Information Specialist is responsible for outreaching linguistically diverse families and traditionally underserved minority populations throughout Virginia and increasing community-based partnerships with other family-serving organizations. Using unique and specific outreach strategies the incumbent will build the capacity of target populations to access special education services to increase student success. This position is funded under the provisions of the US Department of Education Office, Office of Elementary and Secondary Education, and the US Department of Education Office of Special Education Programs. Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Bilingual Information Specialist assists in planning and implementing outreach efforts with staff and other PEATC programs to ensure that Federal resources are being used to their fullest extent.

Must be fluent in Spanish with excellent skills in writing and reading.

Preferred Education

Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Experience may be substituted for academic preparation. Bicultural heritage is a plus.

Hours: 40 hours/week

Work Location: PEATC’s Warrenton or Suffolk office with a possible telework option

Salary Range: $23/hr. – $24.50/hr. + excellent benefits package
