Capacity Building for IEP Teams (2.0)
Presented by PEATC in collaboration with the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE)
August 8, 2021 – August 22, 2021
The IEP process can be daunting for everyone. School personnel report that they often find IEP meetings difficult and stressful. Parents report the same feelings. Everyone comes to the IEP table with thoughts of their personal responsibilities, backgrounds, perspectives, and individual concerns, and must navigate all of those while following procedures and regulations.
Capacity Building for IEP Teams 2.0 –
This training is designed for those that have completed the basic Capacity Building for IEP Teams. The 2.0 version will include such topics as: the roles of IEP Team members , the IEP development process, and components of effective IEPs.
The goal of this training is to help IEP teams build capacity around participating in IEP meetings and collaboration and provide practical strategies aimed at helping future IEP meetings be more positive, productive and collaborative for everyone involved.
A certificate of completion will be provided for all who complete the training.
Training will take approximately 3 hours, and can be accessed anytime during the 2 week time frame.
