Wanda is a Navy veteran with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing. As a work-from-home parent, she filled many roles including supporting her family and their home-based business. Her most important role has been advocating for her children.
Wanda understands the complexities of navigating the special education system and how overwhelming it can be for families. When her youngest child was diagnosed with Autism during middle school, she was introduced to the world of 504 plans and IEPs. Over the next few years, Wanda worked with healthcare and school officials to determine the best path forward for her children.
Wanda also worked in the Office of Disability Services at James Madison University supporting students seeking accommodations in a college setting.
Wanda is grateful for the education and support she received along the way and is excited to provide that same type of support to other families navigating the special education system in Virginia.
