Virginia’s Medicaid Waivers allow individuals with disabilities to receive the services and supports they need at home or in the community rather than in an institutional setting, like an intermediate care facility or nursing facility. In this Guide, we will discuss the Developmental Disabilities (DD) waivers and the Commonwealth Coordinated Care (CCC) Plus Waiver.
If your child isn’t already receiving services through a Medicaid Waiver and/or is not currently on a waiting list for a Waiver, you can decide if they should be screened for Waiver eligibility. There are income and resource limitations, but unlike SSI benefits, for children under the age of 18, parent income is not considered.
