Post-secondary outcomes are the things that your child wants to accomplish or do after high school. Here are some examples of the desired post-secondary outcomes for three students, Alex, Paulo, and Keisha, followed by the measurable transition goals that will help them achieve those goals.
Education/Training Post-Secondary Outcome: After graduating from high school, Alex, who has a physical disability, will enroll at Kings College (a technical school), and take a business math class to improve his work-related math skills and to advance his career in business.
Employment Post-Secondary Outcome: After graduation, Paulo, who has an intellectual disability, will work 20 plus hours a week at the local grocery store and use supports through Vocational Rehabilitation.
Independent Living Post-Secondary Outcome: After graduation, Keisha who has a hearing impairment, will properly maintain her hearing aids without assistance.
